a little something about neon amazon.

The (business) name NEON AMAZON was created from a Dianthus called Amazon Neon Duo. Although I quite dislike the flower, the name couldn't be more poetic. I think my love for the name stems from a time when Miss. Emilie and I spent long hours together on the farm- and long hours together out at night - flawlessly depicting us as the Amazon Neon Duo. Also, such lovely thoughts come to mind when I think of a Neon Amazon. Really wouldn't we all love to live in such an environment as a Neon Amazon?

This is what PanAmerican Seeds has to say about the Amazon Neon Duo :
"Versatile Amazon performs as an exceptional landscape and bedding plant, showing outstanding heat tolerance. It is also an excellent commercial and home garden cut flower. Very dark green, glossy leaves on strong stems are the perfect backdrop to the bright, serrated-edged flowers for a vibrant head-turning show. In landscapes, Amazon grows to about 24 in./60 cm tall; as a Winter greenhouse-grown cut flower crop, height is up to 36 in./45 to 90 cm. Attracts butterflies. Well-suited to gallon or larger pot production. Supplied as easy-to-sow pelleted seed.
